Big Girl Bedding

Hannah has been in her big girl bed for almost a year now. However, we didn't buy her any bedding. So finally we decided to buy her the bedding, with the help of her great-grandparents!

The Birthday Girl

We went to Chick-fil-a and there was a man making balloon hats. He made Hannah a princess crown.

Hannah has been telling me for several days that she was going to hug Chuck E. Cheese on her birthday. Luckily we got there when he was out walking around. He never came back out again, we almost missed him!

More presents! This was her bedding set. I will post a picture of it after I get it all washed and put on the bed.

Birthday Party

Today was Benjamin's birthday but we had a party for Hannah and Benjamin. Hannah's birthday is Monday. They had a Super Why birthday party, it is a show they watch on PBS. They are standing under "Super Letters"

Hannah helped Mama make Benjamin's cake (all but the adding and mixing of the eggs)

We took them to a place called Monkey Joe's to play before the party. Some of our guests were going to meet us there to play. Jackson ended up coming and the others just met us at the house.

At the house we ate spaghetti (Benjamin's favorite, he had two plates full), and had cake!

We had a Super Why cake for Hannah and she told me on Wednesday night she wanted a Super Why cake that would not make her sick. So Grani made her a cake and I made her icing and she actually tasted it this time! Normally she won't touch baked goods, even if we tell her they won't make her sick. She made Daniel blow out her candles. Benjamin had an Alpha Pig cake. He blew out his own candles and did very well. He decided picking up the cake and stuffing it in was much easier than using a fork!

They got lots of fun presents from all their guests!

Remembering God's Faithfulness

I was reading my Esther Bible study last night (by Beth Moore). We were in ch. 3 where Haman has just ordered the letters to be sent out to all the provinces with the order to destroy, kill, and annihilate the Jews, both young and old, women and children...(3:13). The interesting thing that Beth pointed out is that the letters were written on the 13th day of the first month so they would have been distributed on the 14th. The 14th day of the first month, on the Jewish calendar, is Passover. The day that the Jews would all be celebrating and retelling the story of God's faithfulness to them in Egypt and how he delivered them! She points out how God's timing is perfect and the day they get this HORRIBLE news that the Jews are to be annihilated, they are celebrating God's faithfulness. We can only imagine that God probably brought them some peace as they remembered. He brought them out of Egypt and saved them from death and now He can save them from Haman's evil scheme.

As I read that last night and read about God's timing I thought...wow, what timing for me to read this section of the Bible study! Today and really the whole month of February we are celebrating God's faithfulness to us! 3 years ago today we got a phone call about a baby girl, due to be born in two weeks. Finally, the child we had been waiting for, for so long, was on her way! 3 days later we were told we were not getting her, she was born that same day. Later that night we got another call...come to the hospital! (We were confused, we did what we were told, and that night we held our baby, Hannah Rochelle Davis, for the first time)! Oh, how faithful our God is. He brought us through the grief and despair of our infertility and gave us a beautiful gift! He gave us a beautiful baby girl! What better time than today and the next 3 days to celebrate HIS faithfulness!

Not only that, on February 14, 2007, a baby boy was born. Tomorrow we will celebrate the birthday of Benjamin Jaylin Davis. At a time when we were starting to hope for another baby, God brought him to us. He continued to show us He is with us and He is faithful and He is in control! We brought Benjamin home on March 26, 2007 and what a blessing he has been and another precious gift from God!

So at times when I get sad about our infertility (it still happens and will always) I can remind myself how faithful God is! He has a perfect plan for me and Daniel and our family! We can trust him. He is ALWAYS faithful. Hope others can take hope in that too!

"Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21

Build-a-Bear Party

The Birthday Girl, Sophie

Sophie had her birthday party at Build-a-Bear. It was so much fun! The kids all got to pick from about 8 animals to make. Hannah picked a Tiger and Benjamin and Daddy narrowed it down to a Koala Bear. Hannah wore her shark t-shirt (it is really Benjamin's shirt but she has claimed it as her own) to the party for Aunt Mela to see! She LOVES Aunt Mela.

Catherine, Sophie, and Grace Ann all picked the pink, valentine, monkey

Hannah putting the stuffing in her tiger

Giving her tiger a "bath"

Hannah and her tiger "Tiger"

Benjamin named his Koala "Robo", he said "Robot" and his Daddy shortened it to "Robo", and he agreed to that name.

Groundhog Day

Today we made groundhogs to pop up out of the ground. Then we took the groundhog to the front door to see if he would see his shadow. We would have gone outside but we are babysitting and Mama didn't want to bundle all the kids up and head out.

The groundhog did see his shadow, we are happy to have 6 more weeks to give it a chance to SNOW....enough for us to play in!
