9:51PM - Night One in New Beds

It's 9:51pm and all is quite, it has been that way for about 15minutes. The big girl is asleep in her new bed and the baby boy is asleep in his new bed. Hopefully all will remain calm the rest of the night!

This is good...last night at 11:00 things were finally peaceful after both babies cried and cried and cried themselves to sleep!

Update:
10:30pm - Crying, crying, Daddy put back to bed 3 times, went back to sleep
11:00pm - all is quiet
1:30am - Mommy having trouble sleeping, Hannah gets up, Mommy puts her back to bed
2:00am - Mommy finally falls asleep somewhere between 2 and 2:30 (Mommy's back was
hurtingrom carrying a 19lb and 21lb baby all around while shopping Saturday.)
3:00am - The battle begins, Hannah crying, woke Benjamin, Benjamin screaming, Mama's
awake now, Daddy has to get up to help. Benjamin realizes he slept through last bottle
of the night, Hannah is asking to eat and is shaky so Mama is scared not to give her
something to eat. 3:10 Hannah back in bed, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down,
up down, Benjamin finally back asleep around 3:45 or 4:00. Hannah, up, down, up,
down, crying, crying, up, down, up down,
4:45am - Daddy finally gets it across to her she has to stay in bed, she falls asleep
5:00am - Mama falls asleep again
8:00am - Time to get up for church
8:20am - No really, its time to get up for church
9:00am - Hannah is woken up to get ready for church - very hard to wake up

Nap time: Hooray, Hannah stays in bed for entire nap, didn't get up once.

Crib Recall and Big Girl Bed

So, Benjamin's crib was one of the ones that was part of that big recall on Friday. They were advising to not even let your child sleep in them another night. So last night he slept in a pack n' play, which he loudly protested to. This evening we transitioned Benjamin's recalled crib into the toddler bed (this removes the part of the bed that was the problem, there are no safety issues when using it as a toddler bed).

We let Hannah look around and play around in it awhile before putting her to bed. She seemed to like it. She got to use her new big girl sheets and comforter too (I took the comforter off before putting her down for the night, it is too hot for that now).

She can climb in and out by herself, that could be a good thing and a bad thing. When we did put her to bed she climbed out immediately but climbed right back up. She stayed in bed for about 15 minutes crying off and on. Then she got out and starting knocking on the door. Daddy went in and said "it's bedtime, stay in your bed". So now she is in bed again, crying and yelling "mama" "daddy". It's kindof funny, she doesn't usually yell for Daddy and he just came in and said, you're probably used to this but its hard when she is calling for you....hahaha, all these times he has made me listen to her say "mama" and not let me go get her...now he understands how hard it is!
Here is Benjamin's safe crib. I think it looks better in his room than it did in Hannah's. That dark wood looks great with his dark colored walls!

Dryer Fun

Last week I was doing laundry and also talking on the phone. I looked down and Hannah was climbing into the dryer. I continued to put clothes in and she stayed in there. So I decided to go get my camera. When I got back with the camera she was still in there! Finally she said "all done" and waved her hand and said "hot", I said, "I bet it is hot in there" and helped her out.

Hardees

Here is follow up on the letters that went out to Hardees

We're glad to report that your efforts made a difference! Late last week, CKE cancelled both commercials as dozens of TV stations promised to reject the tasteless ads.
That's not all! In a highly unusual move for the company, it also removed the ads from its websites. Remember, this is the same company who hired Hugh Hefner and Paris Hilton as their company spokespersons in the past. Your message is being heard!

Ebay Thanks

Thanks to all of you who bid on my Dad's ebay painting. It went for around $58 I think, now I can't remember. Anyway, I appreciate your support of us and our adoption! Remember, Adoption Day is October 2. Our letter from the lawyer stated we could bring anyone we want to with us to court, so if you are free please come, we have to be at the court house at 9:45. If you are interested e-mail me and I will give you exact details.

If not please try to make it to the party that night, it will be from 6-8 (come and go) at our church. E-mail me if you want more details on that too!

Christy!

Drinking Buddies

Benjamin drank out of a cup for the first time yesterday. He had straight apple juice, Hannah is drinking watered down juice because she drinks non-stop! He did pretty well but I have to help him still.

I'm a Tilley, I can't help it

Okay, so this is totally unrealed to my babies but I don't have another blog where I can post stuff like this so you will have to bear with this post. I don't know if you guys have seen the recent Hardee's commercials, but they are very inappropriate. I have seen both of their new ones and the other day I was hungry for a nice sausage biscuit from Hardees and I said to Daniel "too bad I can't eat at Hardee's anymore because a sausage biscuit sounds good". Anyway, I got an e-mail today from AFA (American Family Association) encouraging me to write my local t.v. stations about the commericals and so of course, being a Tilley, I did. Now some of you don't know what a Tilley is - long story short my great-grandmother was Thelma Tilley, the Tilley's boycott and the Tilley's write letters!

Now back to my story - not only did I write my local t.v. stations I wrote the CEO of Hardee's Here is my letter to him, I encourage you all to write to him as well. Although the AFA says the company has ignored all customer letters in the past. If you don't believe me how bad the commercials are the AFA sent an e-mail with them included I can e-mail them to you - but I don't recommend watching them.

So here is the letter I wrote:
CKE Restaurants, Inc.
Andrew Puzder, CEO and President
6307 Carpinteria Avenue, Suite A
Carpinteria, CA 93013

Mr. Puzder:

I am completely sickened by the newest Hardee’s commercials. Rather than make me want to eat at Hardee’s, they make me never want to eat there, and to tell all my friends and family never to eat there again. There are certain lines that should not be crossed on television and in commercials. Your company has crossed those lines especially with the "Patty Melt" and "Flat Buns” commercials. I hope that you will consider your customers and their families in the future as you come up with advertising ideas. Please leave out the sexual innuendos in your future advertisements. They are unnecessary and repulsive. I have written to my local t.v. stations asking them to take the commercials off the air.

I can guarantee that I will not be patronizing a Hardee’s restaurant until these commercials are removed and I will be spreading the word for others to do the same.

Ebay Painting

Hey Everyone,

My Dad put one of his paintings up on ebay and the proceeds will go towards Benjamin's adoption. If you want to check it out go to:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220148296505

You may be asking, why do they need money for the adoption now? They already have him. If you remember, we got him quite quickly. We had no time to do fundraisers and fill out grant applications. We simply had to pay for what we could and the rest went to a loan and credit card. So my Dad thought, in celebration of his upcoming adoption, that he would try to get some money to help us out with our debt by selling a painting.

So tell all of your art loving friends and family to go bid on this painting!

Crawling Throught the Fish Tunnel

Now that Benjamin can "crawl" (it is still an army crawl) I set up his fish tunnel. He loves to crawl through it! Here he is at the beginning.
Here he is at the middle smiling so big at Mommy
He's almost through!
He made it!
