We Have Allergies

That probably doesn't surprise most of you! Hannah saw the allergist today and confirmed my suspision of a milk and soy allergy and of course after last Saturday her egg allergy. So she cannot have anything with any of these products in them. Here is a picture of Hannah with the numbers on her back they used to test her.

Playing Outside

This was the first day I've been able to take Hannah out to play. I was actually hot in my long sleeves! She had fun but it was hard for her to walk on the bumpy ground so she kept falling. She hasn't learned to stand up by herself, she has to crawl to something to pull up so outside she would just sit there until I helped her up.

The Birthday Story/Saga

Hannah's birthday began on Friday with her 1 year pictures and then a long day running around with Grani and Mommy. We ended the day with Chuck E Cheese and presents.

After opening presents Hannah went home with Grani and Papa to spend the night. Mommy had things to do to get ready for her birthday party and Daddy needed to try to get some homework done. Well, we got home and both Mommy and Daddy were tired (it was a long day we met with the lady to talk about updating our homestudy and found out it is going to be quite an ordeal - pretty much we are doing all the paperwork and interviews and background checks from scratch - not sure why it is called a homestudy UPDATE) so we didn't get much done we went to bed shortly - and we slept in.

Saturday morning we got up late and started getting things cleaned up and ready for the party. Mommy was getting things ready to make a cake and remembered that she and Daddy had not bought any more eggs. So they got ready and went to the store. On the way out the door the phone rang and it was Grani. She said they had fed Hannah eggs for breakfast and that she was having a severe allergic reaction. Her face swelled up and her eye swelled shut and her hands where she had touched the eggs swelled up too. I gave her the number to the doctor and the doctor said get here ASAP. So Daddy and Mommy went to the store and Grani and Papa got dressed and rushed to the doctor. Mommy got home and decided the cake could wait and that she needed to get to the doctor so off she went and Daddy began to straighten up the house. Even though they told them to rush to the doctor we waited 45min to a hour to see the doctor! By that time the benadryl Grani had given Hannah had worn off. When we finally saw the doctor he said that was a severe reaction and he wanted her to go to an allergist (Mommy has said since she was 2 months old she need to go to an allergist), he gave her a steriod for the allergic reaction, some Zertec for allergies and it turns out that cold she has had for weeks turned into an ear infection so she also got some amoxicillian. So after the doctor we went to drop of the prescriptions and we needed to get Hannah some more formula and pick up a few things for the party. We decided we didn't have time to make a cake so we also bought a plain round cake at the bakery down the street so Mommy could still decorate it like she wanted to. We finally got home at 2:15, Mommy quickly ate lunch, Grani fed Hannah and gave her a bath, Papa got Grani lunch, Hannah's meds and ice for the party. Guests arrived at 3:00!

Despite the hectic day we had a GREAT birthday party, but as you will notice Hannah is not eating cake! The doctor told Mommy not to give her any. The reaction really scared him and he was worried about the eggs in it. So she got Cheerios while everyone else ate cake and ice cream! She didn't seem to mind. She had fun celebrating with Grammy and Poppy, Grani and Papa, Uncle Aaron, Aunt Johnna, and Catherine, Mommy and Daddy, Tim, Joy, Hannah and Micah, and Daryl, Sheila and Jackson. It was a lot of fun and the cake turned out so cute!

Valentine's Day News

Hannah wants to wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day. She also wanted to show you what Mommy and Daddy gave her for Valentines Day. As you can see she has some new dolls. They are a boy and a girl, twins. The reason they gave twins to Hannah is because about a week ago they got a call from Julie telling them about some twins that needed to be placed for adoption. After calling about the twins and conversing for the last week about the possibilities things are moving toward this adoption. It is still not a done deal but at this point it is looking like a good possibility. Our homestudy will be updated this week and next week. The birthmother will be shown our profile at the end of this week and then they should be able to make the final decision on whether or not we will get the babies. They are a month old. Please pray that all works out for this and that finances and everything work out. We will keep you updated!

One Year Ago

Well, if you can believe it...it has been one year ago since we first learned there was a little baby girl due to be born on February 25 and we were going to be the ones to adopt her! That little girl was born on February 16 and soon became Hannah Rochelle!

We are so thankful for the many blessings God has given us this past year!

We are celebrating Hannah's birthday this Saturday at 3:00, all are welcome to come! It is at our house.
