Pumpkins

Hannah helped pick out this pumpkin at Wal-mart (I know boring....but we didn't have a chance to go to a pumpkin patch). She is very proud of her pumpkin as you can see) In the picture where Benjamin is crying I'm sure you can imagine what happened....his big sister stole the pumpkin right out of his lap...poor baby!
Don't be fooled, it appears that they are helping me scrape out the guts of this pumpkin but that is not the case! I couldn't get either one of them to do it. They both put their hands in, and I think Hannah might have touched a little bit and she immediately pulled her hands out and said "I can't, you do it"! She then picked up the spoon and I thought she might scrape a little but she just stuck it in and out, which is the same thing Benjamin did with it. They would make their Daddy proud! But poor Mama, once again had to de-gut the pumpkin all by herself and what a mess on her hands, but she loved it! Hannah helped a little with the carving (at least she thinks she did).
Photo shoot on the front porch with the carved jack-o-lantern and the pumpkins they painted with their cousins in OK and the pumpkins they painted at church last night. I couldn't get both of them to look at the camera and both to smile at the same time, but what is new?

I finished Benjamin's costume last night and couldn't resist taking some pictures and sharing them with you guys!

Hayride

Each year our church has a hayride at the home of some of our members. We always have a great time! Hannah and Benjamin enjoyed the horses and playing in the hay! Hannah had so much hay tangled into her hair I didn't think I would get it out. After a bath and a good brushing it did all come out. Hannah LOVED the horses and riding the horses, she kept telling me she was a cowgirl, she started off saying she was a cowboy and so I helped her change it to cowgirl and she stuck with that and said Benjamin could be a cowboy and I agreed!

Playing at Grammy and Poppy's

We spent a lot of the week in Mt. Juliet. The kids had so much fun at Grammy and Poppy's house. They wanted to play on the slide and it was so nice out! They had a lot of fun! We are so happy it is fall and the weather is cool enough to play outside and the grass and tree pollen is lower so Hannah can play and not be miserable afterward!






I love this shirt she has on....if you can't read it it says "I get my good looks from my Mom!" hehe :)

Almost as fun as playing in the snow!

This stuff blew in yesterday. We decided it would be fun to play in. Everyone was calling it tumbleweed, we aren't sure if that is what it is or not but for now we will call it playing in the tumbleweed!

It is also fun to watch!

Adoption Day (this post is out of order)!

Oct. 2 is Benjamin's adoption day. This is not the day we got him but the day that the courts made his adoption official. So not only do our kids get to celebrate birthdays they also get to celebrate their adoption days!

We got Benjamin a gift and Hannah got a little something too, just for being there!

Unfortunatly, we got a call before we left Tennessee that my grandfather had passed away. We were very sad for this news, especially since we would have seen him later that night or early Saturday. We have had a whirlwind of a few days welcoming our new little one and mourning the loss of our Grandpa. We have lots of family in town and the kids are having a GREAT time playing together! These are pictures from Saturday. Today was the funeral and it was a wonderful worship service and celebration of Grandpa's life and his ministry (he was a music minister), but more of a celebration of Jesus and what he has done for us and the hope that we have if we believe in Him!
