Well, well, well, well, well

It just occured to me that all of my posts except for about 3 start with well,
It hit me as funny so I thought I would comment on it.
I guess I feel like I can't just start typing I have to introduce it somehow.
So sorry if I have over used the word well!

By the way - the candles should be shipped to me tomorrow - hopefully I will get them this weekend or Monday!

Orientation

Well, as you all know our orientation was schedule for today. We got a call at 9:00 this morning telling us that it had been cancelled because of an emergency. We were told that they would not reschedule it until the end of the year.

I was really disappointed. I have been looking forward to this day for a long time. Originally we were told the orientation would be the first of October, then the end of November, now we will wait another month or so.

We are very thankful because we have the money for the homestudy and I guess this setback will give us more time to save money for the other expenses that will come up soon after the homestudy.

As, many have reminded us in e-mails today – God works everything out for good – and His timing is perfect!

And I guess I should give my pessimistic husband a little bit of credit. He says he is just a realist. I am Mrs. Optimistic and he is Mr. Pessimistic – I guess both of us need a little balance – a process like this can have many bumps along the way and we both know that.

The Final Talley

Well, we sold 117 candles! That is pretty good! We have over half of the money that we need for the homestudy. Partly from candle sales and partly from gifts from friends and family and strangers for that matter!

Thanks so much for all the support you guys have given!

Please continue to pray for us. There are still hard times - there are constant reminders of our situation and though we know good is coming and will come there are still the hard reminders of where we are.

Cards and Candles

Well, this is the last week to buy a candle if you were planning on it. I hope to get the order in the mail either Saturday or Monday. The sale has been going great! Thanks to everyone who has helped us out by buying a candle. If you want one please let me know by the end of the week - I don't want you to miss out if you were intending to buy one and you forgot.

Also, if you are interested in Christmas Cards we have posted a few more on the Little Creations website. Just e-mail me if you want to order some. We need to know pretty soon. I just ordered some more red and green paper so I have plenty of supplies I just need the orders.

I guess that is all the sales pitch I will give you tonight. Daniel would be embarressed that I give sales pitches at all!

Letter to the Birthmother

Below is the letter that we wrote to put at the beginning of our scrapbook. Most of the time you will see Dear Birthmother letters that are really long. Ours is short for two reasons - one - they told us to make it short - two- everything else we would say is on the next few pages of the book that contains the letter. Usually the Dear Birthmother letter covers the things about your life, your job, your home, your interests, your family and our scrapbook covers all of that so it would be rather redundant to have them read the letter and then turn the page to read it all again. Anyway, enough explanation here it is:

Hello,

Our names are Daniel and Christy. We have been married 31/2 years. Because of a medical condition we are not able to have biological children. We both love children and can't wait to be parents! We have always wanted a large family, so building a family through adoption is the best choice for us. This will be our first adoption, but it will not be the last.
This profile highlights the important things in our lives; our relationship with God, our relationship with each other, and our relationship with our families. We hope it gives you a small glimpse into our lives.

NEW NEWS! FINALLY!

Well, I just heard from Adoptions of Kentucky. They said they have all but two things from us - A Care Plan and a Picture. She said I need to get those in by the end of the week.

The orientation has been scheduled for November 29th. It is a bit later than we were first told but that is okay. Hopefully, we can still have the homestudy in December!

She said the background checks came to her so there is no need to worry about that anymore - I'm still confused because I sent a self-addressed envelope with the background checks because the instructions said they would come back to me.

Well, I guess that is all for now I'm very busy at work.

By the way - we got a new (used) car - our Neon died and we decided not to revive it. So we have a 2003 Kia Spectra. We were not wanting to have to finance a car at this time with the adoption and all but I think in the long run it will be worth it.
