New Backpacks and Outrigger Island

My handsome little man!
Isn't he so cute pulling his backpack!?! What a big boy. Mama needs a little baby now that her baby is all grown up! He doesn't even like to be held anymore :( But....to answer any questions that may stem from that.....1. Daniel has to have another job before we can add to the family and 2. We have to be able to afford a van and the insurance on one....
This is the best shot I could get of my big girl and her big girl backpack, she moves too much and I think Benjamin might have decided to go back out into the parking lot instead of towards the church so I was a bit distracted....When we bought the backpacks we told Hannah she was a big girl and was about to move up to the big girl class at church. We said "no more baby stuff" and she remembered the phrase and repeats it to people who comment on her new backpack.
Crystal and Hannah at Outrigger Island, aka VBS, wow, look at that smile!
We told Hannah she looked beautiful in her pink shirt and her lei and we got the prettiest smile, so we told her when we got to church that we would take her picture. So here it is and we got another great smile!
I have the most beautiful children in the world! (my nieces and nephews come in 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th of course (in no particular order))!Benjamin was excited to see Nemo in Mama's classroom. Daniel and I taught the K-2 grade class. We had lots of fun. I planned on about 5-6 kids and ended up with 13! Wow! It was great!

For Grani and Papa, in Brazil

Hannah recorded a song for Grani and Papa. I'm so sad because the volume on our computer isn't working, so I couldn't listen to the final product. You guys will have to tell me if you can hear it or not, I have no way of knowing. I'm sure you will agree she is the cutest little monotone around! :)

For those of you that don't know the song (I can't remember if I sang all the words with her and like I said...I can't go back and listen to it!)

Think of me everyday
hold tight to what I say
and I'll be close to you
even from far away
know that wherever you are
it is never to far
if you think of me I'll be with you

Think of God's love for you
His word is good and true
no matter where you are
He will take care of you
Sleep now and close your eyes
soft as a lullaby
soon you'll wake up
and the day will be new.

Benjamin

ABOK Benjamin Muis E.P. Sawyer Park Freys Hill Rd Kentucky Louisville picnic

I got a phone call today about this picture. This is one that was taken at the Adoption picnic we went to on Saturday. They called to ask if they could use it for promotional purposes. I said, sure! She said the photographer had called her about the picture and said that all he knew was that the baby's name was Benjamin. She took a look at the picture and said, "I know whose baby that is" so she gave me a call.....I actually don't think this is the greatest picture of him....I guess because I know he usually smiles bigger than this. But, isn't that cool?

More fun in Louisville...part 2

More fun in Louisville

When we went to Louisville for Daniel's graduation I said we were not leaving town until we stopped at the Pie Kitchen....well....somehow we left town without stopping there. So this time I was determined to not make that mistake again. The kids were exhausted after the picnic and we knew they would not take a nap at Tim and Jennifer's, so we drove to the Pie Kitchen. I got my favorite, the Dutch Apple with Caramel.....yummy

A very happy Mommy, and you can see a very sleepy baby in the background!

Hannah had a bad reaction to something at the picnic, either the apples we gave her or just the fact that she is allergic to the world and we were out in it, we don't know which, so poor thing had to put on her footed pajamas when we got back to Tim and Jennifer's the other girls ran outside and so I told Hannah she could go but if it got to hot we would have to go in.
Well, it got hot so we didn't stay out long but she enjoyed the time she had out there.
Benjamin LOVED the big boy swing, he did a great job holding on and staying on all by himself.
He kept smiling really big but my poor, slow camera never got a really good grin!

Aren't They Cute!?!

Adoption Picnic

I love that I actually got her in mid-air!
My brave little girl climbed up the ramp and came down all by herself.

Where is Hannah?

Most days Hannah comes in my room and wakes me up. On Sundays we have to get up a bit earlier than that and so I usually go wake her up. I get to her room and open the door and this is what I see.....

Where is she? I looked behind the door and in the closet (it doesn't have a door)...no Hannah. For a brief second I was running through my mind if she could have gotten out of her room but convinced myself that that was not a possibility (though it really could have happened) and then I looked one more place.....

She was all the way UNDER the bed! As far back as she could possibly go and she was sound asleep! I tried to wake her and couldn't I was already in my dress wondering how I was going to crawl under there and get her. So while I thought I went and got the camera to get these pictures. Daniel finally was able to rouse her enough to get her to crawl out.

At least she had some toys under there to keep her company!

When I asked her why she slept under her bed she said, "a giant!", I said "was there a giant in your room?", she said yes. I asked her if she called for me and she never said yes or no. But she later told Daniel the same story about the giant. She had watched Veggie Tales on Saturday morning and there was a giant in Veggie Tales. She also has a Backyardigans video with a giant in it and of course Dave and the Giant Pickle...another Veggie Tale movie. So anyway, it was quite funny and we thought we would share....
