Okay, so this is totally unrealed to my babies but I don't have another blog where I can post stuff like this so you will have to bear with this post. I don't know if you guys have seen the recent Hardee's commercials, but they are very inappropriate. I have seen both of their new ones and the other day I was hungry for a nice sausage biscuit from Hardees and I said to Daniel "too bad I can't eat at Hardee's anymore because a sausage biscuit sounds good". Anyway, I got an e-mail today from AFA (American Family Association) encouraging me to write my local t.v. stations about the commericals and so of course, being a Tilley, I did. Now some of you don't know what a Tilley is - long story short my great-grandmother was Thelma Tilley, the Tilley's boycott and the Tilley's write letters!
Now back to my story - not only did I write my local t.v. stations I wrote the CEO of Hardee's Here is my letter to him, I encourage you all to write to him as well. Although the AFA says the company has ignored all customer letters in the past. If you don't believe me how bad the commercials are the AFA sent an e-mail with them included I can e-mail them to you - but I don't recommend watching them.
So here is the letter I wrote:
CKE Restaurants, Inc.
Andrew Puzder, CEO and President

Mr. Puzder:
I am completely sickened by the newest Hardee’s commercials. Rather than make me want to eat at Hardee’s, they make me never want to eat there, and to tell all my friends and family never to eat there again. There are certain lines that should not be crossed on television and in commercials. Your company has crossed those lines especially with the "Patty Melt" and "Flat Buns” commercials. I hope that you will consider your customers and their families in the future as you come up with advertising ideas. Please leave out the sexual innuendos in your future advertisements. They are unnecessary and repulsive. I have written to my local t.v. stations asking them to take the commercials off the air.
I can guarantee that I will not be patronizing a Hardee’s restaurant until these commercials are removed and I will be spreading the word for others to do the same.

YEA CHRISTY!! I am SO glad that you got the Tilley blood. You are absolutely right!
You go girl!
Hi Christy,
I have called all the tv stations and was told by channel 5 that the ads have been pulled from the market. Nationally!! He told me to please tell my friends that we won. At first he seemed mad at me, but then I told him to be mad at Hardees or be more selective with what they show on their station. I am proud of you for standing up for what is right and good.

Of course there are many other good qualities the Tilleys have. Like being able to put off a decision until the very last second possible (and sometimes longer than that), being able to talk for a good 35 minutes about going out to the car to go shopping, being able to play Rook and watch soaps at the same time (and win), I'm sure there's more, but Tilleys don't like to brag either...
I am so impressed! I love Tilleys!
I work for NBC17 in Raleigh where we have recieved a large number of emails from concerned viewers about these commercials. I've just blogged about them at my blog. Check it out at Inside the Core
